About Us

The Marine Corps League Clarksville exists to unite Marines, FMF Corpsmen, and FMF Chaplains, both past and present, in a spirit of camaraderie, service, and tradition. We are proud to represent the Marine Corps legacy in Clarksville and the surrounding areas by bringing together those who share the honor of earning the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor.

The Marine Corps League began in 1923 to bring Marines—past and present—together in a shared mission to honor the traditions of the United States Marine Corps.

In 1937, the League became the only Marine Corps-related veterans organization officially recognized by Congress. This special recognition was signed into law by President Franklin D. Roosevelt.

One of the League’s founding members was Major General John A. Lejeune, the 13th Commandant of the Marine Corps. His vision and leadership helped create an organization focused on honor, service, and patriotism. Since then, the Marine Corps League has grown into a nationwide community that celebrates Marine Corps traditions, supports Marines and their families, and promotes American values.
